Restore the Montgomery Canal!
Music for the Monty Cerddoriaeth I’r Monty
Music for the Monty is a new two-
Music for the Monty will see musicians playing spots in venues in Welshpool on Saturday 23 June and Sunday 24 June as well as a concert in Welshpool Town Hall Assembly Rooms on Saturday evening.
As well as providing entertainment at a number of venues associated with the Transport Festival, the aim of Music for the Monty will be raising the profile of the appeal for the restoration of the Montgomery Canal between Shropshire and the Welsh border. All funds raised during Music for the Monty will be donated to the appeal to reopen the stretch of the Montgomery Canal from Crickheath to Llanymynech.
Details of artists playing during the weekend will be available over the next few weeks on this website. Music for the Monty will aim to highlight local music inspired by or linked to the Monty, especially focussing on talent from the area along the Montgomery canal.
Tickets for the Saturday night concert will be available online here in the next few months, so why not bookmark this page and come back soon?
Music for the Monty is keen to hear from individuals and businesses who would be interested in helping sponsor the event to raise much needed funds for the Montgomery Canal restoration.
We can ensure your sponsorship is promoted to visitors and the media. If you would like to explore options, please email and we will be in touch.
