Music for the Monty Cerddoriaeth I’r Monty

Music for the Monty is a new two-day music event being held in Welshpool in June 2018 during the Welshpool Transport Festival.

Music for the Monty will see musicians playing spots in venues in Welshpool on Saturday 23 June and Sunday 24 June as well as a concert in Welshpool Town Hall Assembly Rooms on Saturday evening.

As well as providing entertainment at a number of venues associated with the Transport Festival, the aim of Music for the Monty will be raising the profile of the appeal for the restoration of the Montgomery Canal between Shropshire and the Welsh border. All funds raised during Music for the Monty will be donated to the appeal to reopen the stretch of the Montgomery Canal from Crickheath to Llanymynech.

Music for the Monty aims to highlight local music inspired by or linked to the Monty, especially focussing on talent from the area along the Montgomery canal.

Click for details of venues and performers.

Tickets for the Saturday night concert are available now.

It is not too late if you would like to play at Music for the Monty.  As this is a benefit concert for the restoration of the Monty, no fees will be available, but artists will be recognised on this site for the valuable contribution.
